posted by Andres @ 15:20 PM | Tuesday, May 04, 2004
Web Developers sometimes don't know everything about security and it's extremely important to have knowledge of this popular attack that can cause an entire database deletion.

 The article requested:
You wake up in your bed, dress up, go to work and suddenly you see that the site was shutdown at 3:00 AM and big boss tells you more than 5 times in less than 10 seconds that what did happen or what did you do. You stay calm without telling your boss nothing, without even an answer and worse, not knowing how did happen, big boss cools off by going outside and watching the sky and you start to investigate what really happen. You still can't find the reason of why such terrible thing happened.

The day finishes and you're ready to go home with the site online again and suddenly 5 minutes after you leave the site goes down again and big boss calls you home shouting and you scared check again and you don't find anything yet. Well, in these cases of panic in front of your boss you just need to be calm and investigate over the internet about it, these cases are very common in the internet, therefore, the first thing you should look for is if the cause was generated by an SQL Injection Attack, you might not know what this is but actually is one common type of attack and it's vulnerable in many databases, such as, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server and actually the fault is not by their creators, it's yours because you didn't developed sufficient security for the website, well, here I'll show you how to protect against these evil types of attack.
